Cherryle Patricia Gonzalez, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully, at the age of 73, on Monday, July 27, 2020, surrounded by the love of her family.  Cherryle was born in Chicago, IL on March 17, 1947, the daughter of the late Burrl and Pauline (nee Fairless) Besse.  

Cherryle spent many of her years performing in theater at St James Church Playhouse and LOVED watching her children and grandchildren play sports.  Her Cow Bell is widely known.  She loved dancing with her husband Augie, cooking and making people laugh with her pranks.  She had a contagious smile and a caring heart.

Cherryle is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Augie Gonzalez, Sr. her children, Augie Gonzalez, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ, Tony Gonzalez, of Orland Park, IL, and Trisha (Kory) Gonzalez-Bumpass of Crown Point, IN ; grandchildren, Christian Rodriguez, Paige Basile, Toni Marie Gonzalez and Aubriana & Alexia Bumpass; her siblings Carol Powers and Sharon Sealy.

She is preceded by her parents; Burrl and Pauline Besse; one brother, Harold Besse; and her two sisters, Donna Edwards and Sue Lewis.

A drive-in style Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 11:30 a.m., at The Patrician, 410 East US 30, Schererville, IN.  Please arrive at 11:00 a.m. to ensure a parking spot.  There will be attendants in the lot who will direct you and give out the F.M. station information upon arrival.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Augie Gonzalez Sr., P.O. Box 620, Lansing, IL 60438, and will be used to support a cause near and dear to Cherryle’s heart.
