Christine Ann Heaps

Christine Ann Heaps, age 63, of Griffith, Indiana, went to heaven Saturday, July 25, 2020 due to complications of cancer at her sons home surrounded by her family.

Chris was born October 31, 1956 in Dover, Delaware to Richard Sanders and Patricia Harris. She grew up in Lansing, IL and attended T.F. South High School.

Chris is survived by her children, Anthony (Tabitha) Yannuzzi, Angela Yannuzzi, Patrick (Jessica) Sanders, and Nicole Heaps; grandchildren, Noah, Jonah, Eden, Lilyenn, Fayth, and Carson, mother Patricia Harris, brother Richard Sanders, sister Karen (Rich) Reichart, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Sanders, and brother Gary Sanders.

Chris was very well known in Northwest Indiana. Her personality, passion, and work ethic truly made her shine behind the bar where she made many friends. She bartended in several restaurants, including "The Town Club" where she worked for over fifteen years.

Chris loved to travel and fish in unique places with her long time boyfriend Rick Dyer. 

Chris loved her four children and six grandchildren very much. She always said that they were her biggest accomplishment.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
