Cindy Keel Obituary

Cindy Jo Keel passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family and close friends, on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

She is survived by her brother Mitchell Clark; devoted husband, Alan Keel; her children, James Clark (and his wife, Donna) and Alan Keel; her grandchildren, Nathan Clark, Mike Willey, Chris Willey, Collyn Keel, JordynLynne Keel, Brayden Keel, and Cayden Keel; along with countless friends and family members who felt her warmth and kindness.

Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Sondra and Chuck Clark; her sisters, Debbie Burden and Kathy Anglin; and her grandson, Andrew Clark.

Cindy was a lifelong resident of Hammond before she moved to Hobart. She attended Hammond Tech High School and held dear the memories from her time working at Jim’s Drive-In. Her vibrant energy and spirited nature were unmistakable, especially when she was bartending at Spirro’s, where her personality and zest for life were on full display. Cindy had an undeniable love for life and knew how to make the most of every moment. She was always the life of the party, bringing energy, laughter, and joy to those around her.

She spoiled her husband, Alan and loved him beyond measure since 1976. Alan knew from the moment he laid eyes on her that he had to have her. They were lucky to have each other. Cindy was a great mom and mother-in-law. She loved her boys and would do anything for them. However, next to being a wife and mom, the role she cherished most was that of a grandma. She took immense joy in spoiling her grandson, Nathan in ways you wouldn’t believe. The bond between Cindy and Nathan was deeply special and evident from the very beginning. Their connection was a beautiful testament to her loving nature and the joy she found in her family.

Cindy had a zest for life and loved to make the most of every moment, always ensuring those around her were smiling and enjoying themselves. She was a wonderful friend to many, known for her kindness, generosity, and the genuine care she extended to all. She played Bunco for many years followed by years of being the life of her BINGO crew. Her very best friend is Linda Collins. They enjoyed many laughs over the years playing Yahtzee, 10,000 and Bunco. They had fun no matter what they did.

Her life was a testament to the love she shared and the lives she touched. Cindy will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.
