Clayetta "Sis" Lawrence

Clayetta "Sis" Lawrence, 80, of Griffith, Indiana, left this life on Monday, November 18, 2019 to be with God and her loved ones. Preceded by husband Carl Lawrence, daughters Kris Ann Cole and Stecy E. Sullivan, father Clayton Ready, mother Pauline Lager, step-father Ingvar Lager, and grandparents Mary & Elmer Howerton.

Sis is survived by five sons William (Kim) Lawrence of La Porte, IN, Larry (Cathy) Lawrence of Hammond, IN, Lonnie Lawrence of Gary, IN, Tim Lawrence of Gary, IN, and Keith (Jennifer) Lawrence of Gary, IN, two daughters  Shelley (Howard) Phelps of TN, and Deneen (Joe) Brakley of Gary, IN; seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and pet Chi Chi.

She was employed for 25 years at Lake Ridge Schools in Gary, IN and retired June 8, 2005.

Friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Funeral Service to be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
