Craig, 47, of Munster, Indiana, went to see his Lord and Savior peacefully on December 19, 2025.

He was born on January 19, 1978. Craig was the youngest child and only son of his beloved parents, Margaret Chastain (nee Koepp) and the late Caleb "Jeff" Chastain. 

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Hollyn Grace Chastain, his older sisters Lynette (Donald) Zienty, Cheryl (Bruce) Valent, and Lisa Chastain. 

Craig was uncle to Adam (Maria) Zienty, Ashlyn (Nathan) Walpole, Mason Chronowski, Caleb Valent, Sara Chronowski, Abigail Zienty, Samuel Chronowski, Autumn Zienty, Libby Bonin, Isaac Bonin, Benjamin Zienty, and Blake Zienty.

Great-uncle to Olissa, Paisley, Adelyn, Fletcher, Avery, Archer, and Crimson.

He also leaves behind Tracy Ustinov, his lifelong friend Matt Angel, and special Aunt Barbara Barham, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins,

He was a 1996 graduate of Munster High School. He has a career in IT, Insurance Industry, having worked in Chicago, University Park, Illinois. Craig was an avid reader and his place to go was the library to gain knowledge. 

He enjoyed nature and long walks, especially along Lake Michigan. He also enjoyed trivia shows and Jeopardy. Craig liked to travel and has been to Aruba, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Las Vegas, and a few others. 

Craig could have been a contestant on Jeopardy!. He loved to cook.

Craig was a gentle man and loved by friends, neighbors, and family. He especially enjoyed home cooked meals and desserts.
