Craig Lucht Obituary

Craig A. Lucht, 68, of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday June 11, 2025. He is survived by the love of his life, Mary Jo; daughter, Kayti (Chris) Gonzalez; step-son, Matthew (Susan) Zembala; grandchildren, Kayl, Mavryk, Nayeli, and Weston; sister, Pam (late John) Bishop. Sister-in-laws, Barb (Bob) Stasny, Jackie (Mike) Solivais. Uncle; Angela (Darren) Jones, Amy Stasny. Great Uncle; Camryn, Brody, Riley, Parker, and Ashley. Loving pets, Buddy and Kiwi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Betty Lucht.

Craig graduated from Gavit High School in 1975 and earned a B.A. from Purdue Calumet. Craig worked at LaSalle Steel, Acme Steel, and finally retired from the Canadian National Railroad. In his free time he enjoyed playing tennis, listening to music loudly, gardening, cooking, and watching Purdue sports and the New York Yankees.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2025 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Cremation will follow the visitation.

Craig will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
