Curt D. Abbott

Curt D Abbott age 67, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer Abbott, Lisa Irvin, Douglas Abbott, Brian (Lisa) Abbott, and Anna Abbott; grandchildren, Lauren Larsen, Jacob Irvin, Allie Irvin, Reagan Abbott, Killian Abbott, Elijah Abbott, and Lincoln Abbott; great-grandchildren, Landon Bronder, Asher Bronder, River Williams, and Willow Williams; siblings, Floyd Abbott, Timothy (Debra) Abbott, and Rebecca (Paul) Trumpus; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by parents, Grover (Nick) and Verna Abbott and brother, Bradley Abbott.

Curt was born on March 17, 1958 in Gary, IN. He is a Lake Central High School alumni. Curt was a successful entrepreneur having owned several businesses throughout his life. Most notably his used car lots throughout Lake County, IN. Triple A Auto was his cornerstone for many years in Hammond, IN. Curt was married twice, first to Allison Abbott then to Sheila Abbott. Curt resided in Highland, IN in his final years.

Curt enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Road King, enjoying a pint with his friends at the pub, and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved Nascar (or anything that had to do with fast cars) Curt knew the value of “telling it like it is”. He never wasted time by sugar coating things.

Curt was a loving father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Services were held privately by immediate family.
