Curtis Theodore "Ted" Carter

Curtis Theodore “Ted” Carter, age 82, of Griffith, IN passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022. He is survived by his son, Bill (Darnell) Carter, daughter, Mary Berger, son, Michael (Laura) Carter; grandchildren, Kevin (Michelle) Berger, Steven (Emily) Berger, Valerie (Brian) Prince, Brett Carter, Kyle (Claire) Carter, Alyssa Carter, Anthony (Kendall) Carter, Brianna Carter, Curtis Carter; great-grandchildren, Ryan Berger, Rachel Berger, Autumn Prince, Carter Prince, Lee Carter, Emmie Carter, Sterling Carter, and brother Ed (Jean) Carter along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Carter, brothers Charles (Harriet) Carter, Cecil (Faye) Carter, and sister, Janice (Dallas) Meade.

Ted was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married 59 years to his beautiful wife, Peggy. He volunteered his time to coach various youth sports for his children. He enjoyed his grandchildren as he babysat and drove “Grandpa’s Taxi”. Ted and Peggy loved watching sports together and joyfully celebrated the Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series Championship.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2022,  from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN, 46322. He will be interred with his wife Peggy at Chapel Lawn’s Cremation Garden.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Heart Association.
