Daniel Kuiper Obituary

Daniel Kuiper, 68, of South Bend, IN, and formerly of Highland, IN, passed from this life into the welcoming arms of Jesus on July 20th, 2026. He was the loving husband of 45 years to Jan Kuiper (Rinsema) and devoted father to Greg (Julieanna) Kuiper, Mindy (Kyle) Silveus, and Traci (Eric) Meeder. Dan was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren: Conner, Cohen, Wesley, and Wyatt Silveus; Ava and Isaiah Meeder; Arlo and Maisy Kuiper. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen, and his siblings, Jerry, Ken, and Cindy.

Dan’s life mission was to make an eternal difference in the lives of others by helping them to experience God’s love, healing, and grace. Whether he was presenting in a classroom, counseling, leading worship, preaching, speaking at a men’s retreat, or making casual conversation with a stranger, he was living out that mission to the fullest. Dan loved others fiercely and yearned for them to know the love of his Savior.

Dan’s unwavering loyalty reached beyond his family and friends. As a lifelong White Sox fan, his devotion was resolute regardless of the team’s performance. He loved to watch baseball and was sure to schedule ministry engagements that coincided with Spring Training games in Arizona each year.

Dan made the world a more beautiful place not only with his compassion but with his incredible garden. He appreciated the beauty of creation and had a natural talent for displaying God’s creativity. He considered his backyard his own version of Eden and enjoyed many mornings there as he spent time with God.

Friends and family are invited for a visitation Monday, July 27th, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST at Granger Missionary Church (50841 Birch Rd., Granger, IN, 46530). Please wear White Sox gear (or black and white) in honor of Dan's favorite team that night.

There will also be a visitation at Mission Bible Church (3010 41st St., Highland, IN, 46322) on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 PM CST with a funeral service to follow. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bob Blahnik. Per Dan’s wishes, popcorn and pop will be served after the service to remember his love for the movies. Please note the services take place in different time zones.

For those unable to attend, a livestream of the funeral service will be available here.

Memorials may be directed to New Leaf Resources and Battlecry International. To honor Dan’s memory, love deeply, forgive readily, pray diligently, and never miss an opportunity to let people know you love them and that you’re thinking about them.
