Darlyne Jean (Leimbach) Lewandowski

Darlyne Jean Lewandowski (nee Leimbach)

Born January 29, 1935 in Hammond, Indiana to Ervin H. and Mildred T. Leimbach. She passed away October 12, 2025 in Crown Point, IN.

She attended St. John Lutheran Grade School and George Rogers Clark HS both in Hammond. Darlyne was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in North Hammond.

Darlyne worked for Commonwealth Edison, Electric Supply Co., Standard Equipment and Supply Co., and The School City of Hammond. She worked until age 83.

She married Thomas V. Lewandowski (deceased) in 1954. They had four children: Mark T. (Debbie), Steven C, Paul A, and Diane J. (John) all who survive. She was very proud of all of her children.

She is survived by grandchildren David, Matthew (Anna), Amanda (Erik), Andrew, and Emily, and by three great-grandchildren, Alena, Alyssa, and Ronan.

She is also survived by two brothers: Thomas W. Leimbach (Judy), and Richard E. Leimbach (Linda), and nieces and nephews.

She attended St. John Lutheran Church in Hammond, IN until closure and currently attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond, IN.

She was preceded in death by good friends Dorothy, Diane, Sharon, and Betty, much to her sorrow.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church,  7227 Hohman Ave, Hammond, IN 46324 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with a Funeral Service at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Darlyne's memory.
