David A. Bartholomew Sr.

David A. Bartholomew Sr., age 74, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His steady presence, quiet strength, and deep devotion to those he loved will be profoundly missed.

David was born on January 8, 1952, in Danville, Illinois, to Don and Alice Bartholomew. He was raised in Crown Point, Indiana, where he built lifelong friendships and graduated from Crown Point High School in 1970. He went on to attend Purdue University, earning a degree in Computer Science — a field that would shape his professional life and allow him to share his natural talent for technology with others.

David dedicated many years of his career to working as a computer technologist. He was known for his skill and knowledge in computer engineering and for his thoughtful, problem-solving mind. He approached his work with precision and pride, always willing to lend his expertise when needed.

Outside of his professional life, David found joy in music. He loved playing the bass guitar and performed with a variety of bands over the years. Music was more than a hobby — it was an expression of his spirit and creativity, and those who heard him play knew the passion he carried for it.

Above all, David will be remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of his world. He took immense pride in watching his family grow and cherished every moment spent together. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard (Pat) and Randy (Cyndi) Bartholomew; his children, David (Kristin) Bartholomew of Hobart, IN, Shawn (Lisa) Bartholomew, and Alita Bartholomew of Lafayette, IN; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Alice Bartholomew.

A memorial service will be held on March 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322

David’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
