David L. Keck

David L. Keck, age 92, of Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

David was the devoted husband of Veronica (Jean) Keck, his beloved wife of 71 years. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, and shared joy. He was a proud father to five children: Fred Keck, David (Sue) Keck, Elena (Mike) Newell, Eddie (Robin) Keck, and Michael (Joann) Keck. David was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

David retired from U.S. Steel, where he worked as a dedicated Metallurgical Lab Technician. His work ethic, sharp mind, and quiet strength were hallmarks of his long and fulfilling career.

Outside of work, David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for fishing, especially in Crystal Falls, Michigan, where he made many cherished memories. He also enjoyed crafting his own fishing lures and took great pride in tending to his garden — both of which were labors of love that reflected his patience and creativity.

A Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a funeral service to honor David's life at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man whose quiet wisdom and unwavering love touched so many.

David will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
