David Darrel Witt

David D. Witt "Rusty" age 57, passed away on July 21, 2025 after a year long battle with cancer.

He survived by his brothers, Daniel (Amy) Witt, Donald (Mary Kay) Witt and Darren Witt; nieces, Jennifer (Alex Fields) Heubner, Stephine Witt, Taylor Witt, Emma (Kyle) Corsiglia and Anna Witt; nephew Ethan Witt; great-niece Patricia Bigelow; great-nephew, Greyson and Cameron Corsiglia. 

Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Dianna Witt.

David was born December 21,1967 in Hammond, IN and was a 1986 graduate of Highland High School. He went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Army - Operation Desert Storm, serving for 8 years.

He was a proud member of IBEW local 697 and retired after 27 years, mostly working in the mills.

He enjoyed fishing, casinos, bowling, breakfast with friends at Top Notch Restaurant, and he loved to watch Cubs games with his brothers. His deep, loud laughter, will be sadly missed. 

He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and co-worker and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 beginning at 3:00pm followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00pm with Pastor Randy Harrison officiating at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) in Highland, IN.

The family request all guests to dress in comfortable "Rusty" attire.
