Deborah Lynn (Keilman) Hajduk

Debbie was a lifelong resident of Munster, Indiana where she proudly raised her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mark Hajduk Sr. and her 4 beautiful children, Mark Hajduk Jr. (Tammy), Phillip Hajduk (Tina), James Hajduk (Charity) and Bonnie Hajduk (Noel). Debbie was also the proud “Nana” of 8 grandchildren and “G-Nana” to 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Debbie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Debbie claimed many of her children’s friends as her own, making her a mom and nana to all that spent time in her home.

Debbie is survived by her brother, David Keilman (Cindy) and brother-in-law, John Flint.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Glenna Keilman, sisters, Diane Balucki, Denise Engle and Dawn Flint and her brothers-in-law, Mark Balucki and Bill Engle. Also waiting for her, is her grandson, James Dale Hajduk Jr. (JD).

Debbie had many passions in her life, Boy Scout Leader, Band Mom, Bowling Coach, Red Cross and March of Dimes Volunteer, Munster Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Munster Democratic Precinct Organization. Debbie shared her joy of the holidays by making sure her house was one of the best decorated, especially for Halloween and Christmas. While Debbie had many outside interests, her favorite role was that of wife, mom, and nana. Making sure they were fed, happy and spoiled was her only priority. Debbie lived for her family. Her kitchen was open at all hours for that cup of coffee, hot tea, homemade cookies, midnight biscuits and gravy and unconditional love. While the lessons we learned will be with us always, we will truly miss the magic of being so loved by her.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN 46322. Friends may gather with the family on Thursday, September 14, 2023  at 12:00pm at the funeral home to process at 12:30pm to Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN for interment.
