Debra Garmon

Debra Garmon peacefully passed away with her sister Karen holding her hand and praying.

She is survived by her loving sister, Karen (Ron) Savitski; nieces, Bobbijean (Aaron) Falow, Rhonda (Jim) Kelly, Faith Garmon, Elisabeth Garmon; nephew, Brandon Garmon (Shams).  Great nieces and nephew, Maddy Jo, Maxwell, and Molly Farlow, and our latest addition, great niece JoElla Mae Kelly and Cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, James and Dolores Garmon; brothers, John Garmon, Jeff Garmon; and sister, Doris Garmon.

Debbie was born February 19, 1955 in Griffith, IN and was a graduate of Griffith High School. She worked in the Griffith School system for 20 plus years. She was a hard worker. She enjoyed walking her dog Suzie. She was a big Elvis fan, she loved old movies and in the hospital she was listening to big band music. She always knew all of the actors and actresses of all the movies.  I also played the Elvis gospel music track for her. She was an avid walker everyday before her fall. She will be missed for sure. While she was in rehab, her and sister played their favorite dice game, bunco and talked about their past.

Rest in Peace dear sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. The good Lord has you now. You are safe in His hands after 11 months of trying to get you rehabbed.

Visitation will be on Thursday July 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Service: 12:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN.  Interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery Crown Point, IN.
