In Loving Memory of Deloris A. Allen
Sunrise: December 20, 1942 – Sunset: May 8, 2025
With heartfelt sorrow and deep love, we announce the passing of Deloris A. Allen, who departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in Highland, Indiana. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend whose legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Deloris was the cherished daughter of the late Hugh E. Long and Anna Mae Long (Payne), and the devoted wife of the late Henry Allen, with whom she shared love and joyful experiences.
A loving and dedicated mother, Deloris is survived by her five children: Brice (Lil) Allen, Denae (Sam) DeCrescenzo, Ryan Allen, Teralyn (Jay) Hamby, and Rayelle (Jason) Wojno. Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren: Amber, Miles, Mason, Brittany, Aaron, Dominic, Colin, Melissa, Tarah, Brandon, and Dylan. Deloris was blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. She was also a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, offering them the same warmth, wisdom, and care she gave so generously throughout her life.
Though Deloris grew up in many states, she found her true home in Indiana, where she built a life full of meaningful relationships, laughter, and enduring strength. Her home was a place of comfort and peace, where everyone was welcome and deeply loved.
Deloris's unwavering love, nurturing spirit, and warm smile will be profoundly missed. She had a quiet strength and a gentle presence that comforted and inspired everyone around her. Whether through a kind word, a home-cooked meal, or a loving hug, she gave of herself freely and fully.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., followed by funeral services from 6:30 P.M. to 7:15 P.M. at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life so beautifully lived.
Rest peacefully, Deloris. Your love surrounds us still, and your memory will be treasured forever
