Denise Camery

Denise Camery age 77, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 surrounded by her family. 

She is survived by her loving husband Robert Camery of 53 years. Her daughters Sarah (Michael) Thien  and Terri Scheeringa (Camery); her grandsons Ryan Thien, Benjamin Thien, Anthony Spriggs, Samuel Scheeringa,  Lucas Scheeringa; and her brother Derek (Cindy) Holme; numerous nieces and newphews she loved dearly and two canine pals she adored. 

Preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Chistina Holme.

Denise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Born in England in 1948, she moved to the United States as a child and spent her formative years in Griffith Indiana, where she graduated from Griffith High school in 1966. She went on to study at Indiana State University.  

A woman of quiet strength and deep faith, Denise was know for her kind heart, love of animals and passion for reading. She was always there to share prayer for those she loved and others she didn't even know. Denise will be truly missed by all the lives she touched. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday June 11, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland Indiana from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Funeral will be at the funeral home at 10:00 am Thursday, June 12, 2025 after a 9:00 am to 10:00 am visitation. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery 2305 W 73rd Ave. Merrillville IN 46410.
