Diamond La Shay Toney Burks

Diamond Burks of Merrillville IN, passed away into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, October, 18, 2025. She was born March 5, 1994 to Renee and Dontell Toney. She is survived by her husband Elton Burks, sons Darce Alan Toney and Elton Laroy Burks, parents Renee Moseley and Dontell Toney, siblings Brian Toney, Karis Toney, Tajanae Toney, Nevaeh Randall and Jayvon Randall, grandmothers Jeanne Moseley and Mary Burks. She was very fond of her PaPa Alan K. Moseley (deceased) who helped raise her and also preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael Toney Sr. She is also survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She graduated from Merrillville High School in 2012, and was employed at Culvers. She enjoyed vacations with her family, fishing in Canada, and going to Florida. Summertime activities with her sons were special times for her. 

Visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN 46322, on Friday, October 24th, 2025 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and service afterwards with Mr. Konnie Kuiper officiating.

Monetary donations for her sons higher education would be appreciated.
