Dominick J. (Mickey) Curatolo

Dominick J. (Mickey) Curatolo 78, of Highland,IN, passed away on April 26, 2022.

On August 21, 1943 Dominick was born to Samuel and Ida “Eva” Curatolo in Chicago, Illinois. Dominick grew up in the Grand Crossing neighborhood where he attended Paul Cornell grammar school and Chicago Vocational High School where he graduated Class of 1963. Dominick met his wife Carol Ann Kalka in 1962 and proceeded to  marry at St. Michaels Parish on September 12, 1964. Dominick and Carol lived in South Chicago before purchasing their first home in Dolton, Illinois in 1970.

Dominick made a career in the steel industry where he started at Republic/LTV as a crane repairman while ending his tenure with retirement from Mitel in 2005 after 37 years. Dominick was a dedicated worker while earning respect of his peers.

Dominick is survived by his loving Wife of 57 years, Carol;  Sons Jeffery (fiancé Jae Jump), Michael (wife Carrie), Stephen, Christopher (wife Lori); Grandchildren: Natalie, Jordan, Savannah, Alexis, Isaiah, Jonah: Great Grandchild: Ryan; Brother, Sam Curatolo (wife Linda); Sister Sharon Hammond; Brother in-law Norbert Kalka; Sister in-law Elaine Kruk; and many nieces and nephews. Dominick was predeceased by his Father, Samuel, and Mother Eva; Brother -in law Frank Kruk, Sister in-law Fleurette Kalka.

Dominick was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family and truly will be missed.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd), Highland, IN. 46322.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 5, 2022, 10:30 AM at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave, Highland, IN 46322, with a visitation at the church beginning at 10:00 AM.
