DONALD EUGENE FITTING
       May 24, 1940 – April 23, 2023

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Donald Eugene Fitting, age 82, of Sun City, Arizona (formerly Highland, Indiana and Hazel Crest, Illinois) passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023.  

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Olive Fitting, brother C. Wesley Fitting and granddaughter, Taylor Fitting.

Donald is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bonnie Fitting; daughter, Kimberly (Gregory) Mendica; daughter, Brenda (Leonard) Meckler; son, James Fitting; daughter, Kristin (Robert) Mengel and son, Douglas (Amanda) Knoles.

Donald was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Daniel, Kristie, Mario, Joshua, Jessica, Michael, Matthew, Brandi, Jacquelyne, Taylor, Samantha, Kimberly, Riley and Ryan and 10 great grandchildren, Destinee, Kaylee, Kiera, Mason, Isobella, Amaya, Casimer, Sophia, Spencer and Ivy.   He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews Priscilla, Anna, Samuel and Timothy.

Don had an avid love of golf. On a beautiful Arizona day, he could be found at the 19th hole with his golfing buddies. Friends and family were everything to him and he will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN  46322.  A service celebrating Don’s life will be held at 7:00 pm with Pastor Linda Skaggs officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to your local animal shelter/humane society.
