Donald Lee Gillim

Donald Gillim age 72, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Gillim; children, Daniel (Katherine) Gillim; bonus children, Timothy (Amanda) Collins, and Sharon Collins; grandchildren, Chloe Gillim, Bentley Collins, Landen Collins, Harper Collins, Anthony Jackson, Isabella Collins, and Amari Baldwin; sister-in law, Cindy Gillim; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and canine pal, Jinx.

Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dorothy Gillim, and brothers, Len and Terry Gillim, and canine pal, Freddie.

Don was born May 4, 1951 in Hammond, IN and was a proud graduate of Gavit High School. On July 30, 2022 he was married to the love of his life, Tina Lively after proudly being together for 16 years. Don retired from Speedway Super America in 2005 and moved into his true passion in the entertainment industry bringing joy to many by performing karaoke shows on a weekly basis for 15 years.

Don enjoyed singing with a passion, and always pushed his followers to just have fun. He was an avid family man who would give the shirt off of his back to anyone. He enjoyed all things Chicago sports, even though they pretty much made all of the “wrong moves”.

Don was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will truly be missed by all those lives that he was able to touch.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.
