Donald Mark Wagner, 68, of Lake Station, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, after a battle with cancer.
Donald was born on April 18, 1957, to the late Anton and Alice Wagner. He will be remembered as the “Cool” Uncle Don that loved being around all the kids cracking jokes with them (as long as they were calm and quiet). He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and driving vintage cars. Like his father, he had a career in auto sales, starting with working alongside his dad, and then later owning his own car dealership. Like his mother, he had a nurturing demeanor that was demonstrated by taking responsibility for his aunt who lived 18 hours away for many years. Donald helped care for his parents as they aged, making sure to share his love, time and support to them.
Donald is survived by his siblings, Anton (Jane) Wagner, Robert (Sandy) Wagner, Dave Wagner, and Darlene (Mike) Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Deborah Carlson and Diana Veneklase; brother-in-law, Kenneth Veneklase; niece, Cynthia Veneklase and great-nephew, Ryker Dale Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at Cedar Creek Community Township Center, 151 North Fremont Street, Lowell, Indiana, on April 4, 2026 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm.
A special thank you is extended to Donald’s niece, Marissa Bottos, and his sister, Darlene, for the love, care and time spent with Donald during the end stages of his life on earth.
May he be riding in the sunshine of Heaven.
