Donald Lee Wills

Donald Lee Wills, 97 of Griffith, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026. He was born on September 14, 1929, to the late Otto and Florence Wills. Don was a graduate of Griffith High School and was a member of the football team when they won the state championship in 1945. After having served in the Navy during World War Il, Don remained in Griffith where he was often seen on his front porch with a cigar in his mouth, a newspaper in his hands, and listening to a transistor radio. An avid golfer, a flag could be seen in his yard commemorating a "Hole-In-One" which he loved to talk about. "True story!", was his favorite catch phrase. Don was also a chess lover and taught his neighbor Brittany how to play when she was only 8 years old. With no children of his own, his dogs remained his most loyal companions and could be seen wherever he went. Don was also preceded in death by his brother Wayne K. Wills (Jack). He will be missed by all that knew him.
