Donna Marie Hough

Donna Marie Hough, age 48, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded by love.

Donna is survived by her loving devoted twin sister Denice Hough, her beloved brother Michael Hough, her loving mother Donna Faye Hough, and her supportive sister-in-law Sue Thornton-Hough, her brother-in-law Richard Sorensen and her adoring nephew Walter and niece Amelia. She also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.

Born on November 4, 1976, in Hammond, Indiana, Donna was raised in Munster, where she graduated from Munster High School in 1995. During her school years, she shared her talents and spirit in choir, soccer, and basketball. She began her college journey at Ball State University and Purdue Calumet, eventually following her passion for style and creativity to the Art Institute of Chicago, where she earned a BFA in Fashion Marketing in 2000.

Donna made her home in Chicago for 12 years, thriving in the fashion industry as a merchandiser and photo stylist. Among her proudest moments was styling First Lady Michelle Obama. Donna also launched her own jewelry brand, Twisted Designs, creating one-of-a-kind metal rings with precious stones, as well as earrings, necklaces, and bracelets that she sold at craft shows across the Midwest.

A true dog lover, Donna was never without her loyal toy fox terrier, Feebee, who was by her side for 17 years. Later joined by Izzee, both pups were part of her great adventure living in Hong Kong with her sister for three unforgettable years.

After returning home to the States, Donna spent her time close to those she loved. She had a gift for making others feel special—always quick with a smile, a thoughtful surprise, or a kind word. She was a wonderful cook, a lover of sunshine, and never afraid to take a leap—literally, as she went skydiving at least twice.

Donna will be remembered for her creative spirit, generous heart, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Her light will continue to shine in the memories of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322 (one block south of Ridge Road). 

The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by interment at Schoon Family Cemetery, 214 Ridge Road, Munster, IN.
