Donna Murray-Bruney Obituary
Donna S. Murray-Bruney, age 73, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Donna was born to W.L and Edith Murray on July 5, 1951 in Leesville, La. Donna grew up in Sulphur, La. and moved to the country in her adult years to raise her children. Donna worked for the Beauregard Parish School System and the Beauregard Parish Waterworks. When Donna retired she moved to Valparaiso, IN in 2012.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Donna also loved listening to country and gospel music. She really enjoyed bible study with her friends. Donna loved watching Bar None Cowboy Church. She also was a nature lover and enjoyed all things outdoors. Donna loved working in the garden and fishing. She loved taking walks at her favorite park with her dog Hobo. Donna was also known for her incredible talent which included crafts, sewing, quilting, painting, woodwork, and crocheting. Donna just really enjoyed time visiting with her family and friends. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which Donna shared with those who surrounded her. Donna found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life.
Donna joins her parents, W.L. and Edith Murray, and her brother, Benjamin (Ben), in Heaven.
She is survived by her brother, Rev. Robert Murray and wife Glenna of Delano,TN, sister in law, Debbie Murray (Ben) of Sulphur, La. her children, daughter Selena Kelley Herrington (Cliff), of Florien, La. son Don Kelley Jr.(Annette) of Magnolia, TX. son Thomas Pilley (Kathy) of Valparaiso,IN . Grandchildren Alyssa Kelley of Rosepine, La; Dalton Koonce (Jade) of Newton, TX. Donavan (Djay) Kelley of Magnolia, TX ; Two great granchildren Jesen James and Kase Koonce.
Donna was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend and she will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
