Donnie Keaton of Gary, Indiana passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 39. Born on May 20, 1986, he was preceded in death by his Father Elzie Keaton, his Step-mother Robyn Keaton, his Step-father Terrence Hoernig, his brother Dustin Keaton Sr, his cousin Jessie Kollwitz. and uncle Shawn Magerski.

He is survived by his mother Marsha Hoernig (Ron), his sisters Krystle and Katherine Hoernig (Milton), his brother David Hoernig (Joby), maternal grandparents Patricia & Dan Deering, and his seven nephews Daniel, Dustin Jr., Cameron, Dominic, Dimitri, Mateo, and Gage and one niece Drita.

Donnie had a heart of gold and a passion for his family, always ready to help out anyway his family needed.

Donnie was a lifelong fan of the Bears and Cubs. Didn’t matter time of the year Donnie always loved a good horror movie Halloween and Scream being his favorites.

Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm.
