Dorothea Jean Lynch (Pettigrew) 89 of Munster, Indiana passed away in her home on April 27, 2025.
Dot was born July 30, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Everett & Eva Pettigrew (Stephens). She graduated in 1953 from Hammond High School, in Hammond, Indiana. She married the Love of her life of 69 yrs.’ Dennis Lee Lynch on April 3, 1955.
Dot was a long time member of Faith Christian Tabernacle in Rensselaer, Indiana. Her Faith & Love of Jesus was very strong. She always tried to spread the gospel message and bring people to Christ. She loved her church, faith family, her children, and grandchildren very much.
She always had a joke or a story to tell to anyone who would listen ( and even those who wouldn`t). She was funny, sarcastic and straight forward.
Dot loved to read, and do her daily devotional readings, garage sales, resale shops, and going out to lunch with friends. She worked at Sears in Highland, Indiana for 22 years. She was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons; Michael Lynch of Munster, Timothy Lynch (Carol Stanley) of Highland, Christopher Lynch (Elle Debow Jackson) of Wisconsin, daughter Terri Anne Ghering (David) of Fowler. brothers; Raymond Pettigrew (Cecilia) of North Carolina, Sidney Pettigrew(Virginia) of Arizona, sister; Lillian Willson (Ken) of Michigan, many cousins, nieces, & nephews, 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Dennis L Lynch, son; Rick Lynch Sr ,(wife) Cynthia Lynch, grandsons; Jordan Vanzo, Rob Lynch, granddaughter Terra Lynch, sister in laws Cecilia Pettigrew, Virginia Pettigrew, her parents; Everett & Eva Pettigrew, sister; Pat Marchke (Pettigrew), brother; Thomas Pettigrew.
We are planning a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Faith Christian Tabernacle 4911 W. 1100 S. Rensselaer, Ind. at 1:00 pm (eastern) (12pm central) with Dr. James Blanchard officiating, there will be a luncheon following the service at the church.
