Dorothy (Vintila) Poppa, formerly Dorothy Duggan, age 90, of Highland, IN, peacefully passed away at home on June 12, 2020. She is survived by: son Clifford E. Duggan Jr., grandchildren Leslie (Josh) Littlejohn, and Rebecca, Emma, and John Duggan, great-granddaughter Avery Littlejohn, stepsons Emil and Virgil Poppa, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by: beloved husband Emil (Moe) Poppa, parents John & Mary (Popa) Vintila, and brothers John and Pete Vintila.
Funeral Service will be held graveside at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Ave., Crown Point, IN, 46307 on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 10:00 am with Father John Ionita officiating.
Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of East Chicago Washington High School. She began working at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in the accounting department in 1949. Later in life, she proudly served as Project Director for the Senior Artisans' Guild. She greatly loved and was loved by her son and grandchildren, and was so proud of all of them. She was a lifelong member of the St. George Romanian Orthodox Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, watching old movies and murder mysteries, and drinking Cokes from McDonald's. Her love for her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchild will continue to live on.
