Edmund J. Morweiser

Edmund J. Morweiser (Ed), age 90, residing in Rochester IN, (formerly of Schererville, IN, passed away Monday, July 28 2025 at his home. He was born May 8,1935 in Hammond IN, to Bernhard and Katharina Morweiser. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Erwin B Morweiser and great- grandson Silas E Gast.

On November 16, 1974 in Hammond, IN he married Norma Perkins.

Mr. Morweiser was retired from the Amoco Refinery in Whiting Indiana as a Maintenance & Services Supervisor. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Korea. He graduated from Hammond Technical-Vocational High School in Hammond, Indiana

Those left to cherish is memory are his beloved wife of 50 years, Norma Morweiser, Rochester, two daughters, Bootie Beattie and husband Bill Beattie, Rochester and Debera Wahl, Coal City, IL; two grandchildren: Karl A Gast (Jessi) of Bloomington, IN and Mary K Gast-Pyle (Chris) of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren Ezra A Gast & Ari E Gast; sister, Mary Helen Payonk, Hammond IN and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a small celebration of life held for family and friends Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Interment will take place at Marion National Cemetery at a future date.
