Edward “Ed” Mikula, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Mikula; children, Michelle Warner (Kenneth), Sandra Mason (Terry) and Caryn Mikula; grandchildren, Brett Mikula, Kylie Warner and Kayla Warner; great-grandchild, Layla Diaz.
Preceded in death by parents, Steve and Genevieve Mikula and son, Edward Shawn Mikula.
Ed was born October 1, 1937 in East Chicago, Indiana and was a 1956 graduate of Bishop Noll High School. He married Nancy Scheuerman on August 21, 1965 and together shared 60 years in Highland raising their family. Ed retired from Inland Steel in East Chicago, Indiana with 30 years of service.
He enjoyed fishing, taking road trips and tinkering in the garage building & fixing things. Ed spent a lot of his time making polish sausage, smoking meats and cooking for large events while a member of Club Ki-Yowga in East Chicago, Indiana. After retirement he regularly attended breakfast get-togethers with his fellow retirees.
Ed was a generous man, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, Indiana with visitation from 9:00 - Noon with service at Noon with Rev. Brian Chadwick officiating.
Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.
