Edward Wayne Peek, age 75, passed away peacefully at Aperion Care in Demotte, IN. Wayne was born in Goodsprings, TN and grew up in Black Oak (Gary, IN). He attended Calumet High School and followed in our father's footsteps operating his own used car lot off Broadway in Gary. You could always find him on Fridays at Dyer Auto Auction buying and selling used cars. Wayne was a die-hard fan of the Rolling Stones and attended numerous concerts with family and friends. Family members who attended the Stones 2024 tours in Chicago & Atlanta brought him much loved Stones memorabilia which he enjoyed. He won a Harley Davidson bike one year and entered a contest for a new beer "FAT TIRE" and wrote the best beer jingle winning a FAT TIRE BIKE!
Wayne is survived by his son, Wayne Jumpin' Jack Peek (JJ), grandson, Ryder, siblings, Alice Cannon, Susan Warstler, Randy (Sandy) Peek, Sharon Hatler, Steven (Debbie) Peek, Charles A. Peek, Sr (Karen), Timothy A. Peek, Melinda Kay (David) DeSchepper and half-brother, Raymond Carmack (Victoria), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Peek in 1982, mother, Margaret Peek (nee Gatlin), 2016, sister, Raymonda Peek in 2003; brother Calvin A. Peek, 2016, nephew, Charles A. Peek, Jr. in 2013; and great nephew, Mitchell Rubalcava in 2014.
Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2025, at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN from 4:00 p.m. with his Funeral Service starting at 7:30 p.m., Pastor Randy Harrison will be officiating. Wayne lived life like he wanted to and on his terms. He was baptized at Black Oak Baptist Church in 1964 and gave Alice a bible which she treasures to this day. He loved his son and grandson and always expressed much love for them during our numerous conversations. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in October 2024 and received care and comfort with Traditions Hospice Care at Aperion Care in Demotte. Our family is grateful for the compassionate care and support he received from the staff of Aperion Care Demotte staff and from the staff with Traditions Health Hospice of Crown Point.
