Edwin Arturo Rodriguez-Enriquez

Edwin Arturo Rodriguez Enriquez age 54 of Retalhuleu, Guatemala, who resided in Indiana passed away at Munster Community Hospital with family and friends surrounding him on March 20, 2025.

He is survived by his best friend, Rubicelia Diaz, who together created a family; children, Rubicelia (Matthew) Johnston, Araseli (Kyle) Muiser, Cristina (Edward) Rodriguez and Angel Palencia; proud grandfather to Christian Perez-Terrazas, Matthew Perez, Jaydeen Perez, Noah Perez, Elijah Johnston, Lilyanna Johnston, Sarah Johnston, Abigail Johnston, Caleb Muiser, Amara Evans, and Angelica Evans; loving brother to Ana (Jesus) Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez and Marta Elieth Enriquez; beloved son to Jose Esteban Rodriguez Aguree and Rosa Enriquez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Edwin was born October 23, 1970 in Retalhuleu, Guatemala and was quickly known as Arturo by family and friends. He spent his childhood days in Guatemala eating mangoes off the tree and going on adventures with his brother, sisters and many cousins. He went to the military school; Instituto Adolfo V. Hall Del Sur in Guatemala, where he spent his teen years learning about his country and agriculture. He came to the United States with a dream and hoping for a better life. He started a family and he worked hard. He achieved being the owner/ operator of his own commercial motor vehicle.

He enjoyed life to the fullest. Cookouts in any weather, laughter, jokes, sun rises and sunsets. He loved his family with all his heart. He was always helping people who needed it even if it meant he would go without. He enjoyed farming and being outside in nature. He loved his home country Guatemala but also loved the United States for the life he was able to build. His last wish was to help someone at his passing by being an organ donor. He was able to achieve that. Edwin was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend and will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of life service will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 4:00-8:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN.
