Ekaterini "Katina" Giatras, age 87, of Crown Point, formerly of Zante, Greece, passed away peacefully at St. Anthony Hospital on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. She was a devout member of SS Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Panagiotis “Pete” Giatras; parents: Labrianos and Irene Bozikis; and three siblings: Ioannis Bozikis, Dionysios Bozikis and Paraskevi Loukisa. Katina is survived by her beloved daughters: Olga (Harry) Karahalios of Schererville and Sandy (Steve) McGrail of Mooresville, NC; dear grandchildren: Dina (Justin) Harty, Peter McGrail, Andrew McGrail, Johnathan Karahalios and Edward McGrail; cherished great granddaughter Kathryn Harty; and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to present day circumstances, a private service will be held for the family on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:30am at SS Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison, Merrillville, IN with Rev. Theodore Poteres officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
