Elmer F. Lucas II (Elmo) age 67, of Highland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Laurie (Dave) Baker, Linda (Dave) Miller and Diane (Jim) Brown; many nieces and nephews, Julie (Jake) Baranowski, Lucas (Clauseille) Baker, Haylie (Max) Young, Melissa (Blake Tyson) Miller, Joshua (Kayla Phelps) Miller, Jason Miller, Austin Brown, Aaron (Sydney Zwinski) Brown and Caroline Brown; great niece, Irena Baker; best friend, Joe (Kim) Maggio and honorary nephew and nieces, Joseph, Kara and Julia Maggio. He is also survived by many close cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Irene Lucas.
Elmo was a 1976 Highland High School graduate and a union pipe fitter for 44 years out of Local 597 Chicago. He enjoyed woodworking in his basement workshop with his nephew and had fun watching many of his nephews and nieces play sports over the years. He loved collecting old vintage cars and frequented many local car shows. Elmo also enjoyed completing the daily Sun-Times crossword puzzle, riding his bike and going to music festivals during retirement. His many family members and friends will cherish their fond memories of their times spent together.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 31 2025 from 1:00-3:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.
