It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethan Christopher Farrell (22) who passed away Monday, August 21, 2023. Ethan is survived by beloved mother Nicole Kinder, siblings Payton Kinder, Kobe Kinder and Harrison Elam, “Gaga” Mary Jeremiah, grandfather Rocky Huber, aunts Natalie (Chris) Simstad and Rochelle (Taylor) Huber, cousins Jacob and Harper Simstad, large extended family and his dear friends and their families. Also survived by the Kinder and Jennings families who loved Ethan as part of their own.
Ethan was born on December 4th, 2000 at Community Hospital and grew up in Griffith, Indiana. He graduated early from Griffith High School in 2018. Ethan and his mom Nicole enjoyed spending time together appreciating the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending time at Creative Comics, playing video games, playing Pokémon Go, creating his music, and watching Marvel movies. He also enjoyed spending time in Chicago with his aunts and baking with his Gaga. He loved his cat, Baby Ivy, and enjoyed many pounds of bacon and flaming Hot Cheetos. He was a friendly face while working at 7-Eleven and had many childhood memories at Papa Rock’s house. Ethan adored his siblings and loved the special things and time he spent with them. Ethan will be remembered for always greeting everyone with a hug and an “I Love You”. Ethan was always true to himself and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) in Highland, Indiana, 46322. Services will be held at 8:00 pm by Brandon Rukes, Senior Pastor with Griffith First Christian Church. Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 am on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023. Burial is at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8178 S. Cline Ave, Crown Point, Indiana, 46307. Immediately after, family invites and encourages all to meet them at Central Park in Griffith Indiana for a luncheon.
