Evelyn Delich

Evelyn Delich, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at Munster Community Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 19, 1952, in New York City, New York, Evelyn was a devoted and thoughtful grandmother whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her.

Evelyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with her family, working on puzzles and word searches, and creating beautiful pieces through her love of crocheting. Her gentle nature, quiet strength, and steady presence were a source of comfort and love to those around her.

She is survived by her loving partner, Scott Harold; her children, Joel Cruz and Christy Bezdek (Christopher); and her beloved grandchildren, Tristan and Arwen Bezdek. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Jose Castillo.

Visitation will be held to honor Evelyn’s life on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN.

She will be laid to rest Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at McCool Cemetery, 2700  McCool Rd, Portage, IN.

As we remember Evelyn, we hold close the words she loved: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
