Francine M. (Bohling) Plonczynski

Fancine M. (Bohling) Plonczynski, 90, Highland, quietly and peacefully passed into Heaven on Monday. October 27.202..

Fran was born December 25,1934, in Chicago, Illinois, where she grew up and attended school. She married Gerald D. Plonczynski in 1955 and settled to raise their family in Highland in 1960. Fran was a homemaker. After her children were grown, she went to work at Obies Restaurant where she was a greeter and hostess. She was lovingly known as “Nana” by her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children Gerald P. (Sharry) Plonczynski, Jody A. (Joseph) Slacian and Timothy J. Plonczynski; grandchildren Erik (Briton) Plonczynski, Daniel (Robyn) Plonczynski, Jana Slacian, Jeri (Joseph Henderson) Slacian; great-grandchildren Jaxon Plonczynski and Rowan Plonczynski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, Harold and Doris Bohling; her brother, Ronald Bohling, and sister-in-law, Marlene Bohling.

Private services were held Nov. 19.2025. at Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville. Indiana.
