In Loving Memory of Frank Postelmans
April 8, 1969 - September 12, 2023
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Frank Postelmans, who unexpectedly left us after a valiant fight from a rare, incurable immune disease at the age of 54 years old.
Frank was born in Hammond, IN to Louis Postelmans and Marian Grott (Brezinski). He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, son, brother, grandfather and friend. He attended Morton High School but graduated from Lake Central High School. Frank was a hardworking mechanic at South Oak Dodge, who never hesitated to help his kids with their cars even after a long day at work. He met his beloved wife at their high school 10 year reunion and never looked back. Their love was like a fairytale full of excitement. He loved his field trips with his wife from jumping on the pyramids in Mexico, swimming with tropical fish in Jamaica, running from the buffalos and a bear in Yellowstone, hiking the Narrows in Zion Park and much more.
Frank’s other passions include gaming, scary and Sci-fi movies, building models and painting figurines, comic books, heavy metal and 90s grunge music, concerts, cooking and grilling out, football, fishing, camping, Turkey Run, and of course, craft beer!
He was a one-of-a-kind man who others described as a kid at heart always with a smile on his face. Wherever he went he made friends. He was honest, funny, genuine, kind, humble, sweet, supportive, and helpful to those in need.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Yvonne Postelmans (Altieri); mother: Marian Grott (Brezinski); two brothers: Casey Postelmans, Duane (Emily) Postelmans; sister: Andrea Postelmans; five children: Jacqueline (Robert) Lawson, Christina (Aaron) Price, Brad Postelmans, Carlos (Tabitha) Moreno, Aaron Moreno; six grandchildren: Brandon, Chloe, Carley, Cj, Ezra, Mia; six nephews: Chad, Rylee, Hunter, Evan, Frank, Corey; and two nieces: Casimira and Avery: many uncles and aunts and extended family and his crazy dog, Roscoe all of whom will forever cherish his memory.
Preceded in death by his father, Louis Postelmans, stepfather, Paul Grott, grandparents Martin and Casimira Brezinski, Cornelius and Ernani Postelmans, and three uncles: Paul Postelmans, Frank Mansur, and Frank Ledbetter and dog Strife.
A celebration of life for Frank will be on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (CST) at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN 46322.
