Frederick Lind Taylor

Frederick Lind Taylor, 66, of Hammond, IN, passed away on October 29, 2023, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and close friends. Frederick Taylor was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. Even though he was ornery, he was still someone who was funny, who loved telling jokes. His family hopes he is bowling with Jesus through the heavenly golden gates and playing on the blissful clouds with the family members who passed before him. Fred, everyone you left in this world hates that you are gone but we are happy that you are home free and painless. We will always love and miss you, until we can meet again.

Memorial Service will be held on November 5, 2023 at 1:30 pm at New Hope Baptist Church in Hobart, IN, (3528 St. Joseph Place, Hobart, IN, 46342). Pastors Jeff and Pat will be officiating this lovely service. The family requests donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church. Fred and his wife Karen felt strongly about this church and have been active members since 2018.

Fred was born in East Chicago on October 25, 1957. He attended Henry Clay High School in Indiana.

Frederick worked at Pay Setters Steel for 20 wonderful years of his life, then worked for his great friend and boss, Nick Sever, for Calumet Brewery for an additional 20 years. He enjoyed telling jokes and stories, helping people, spending time with his wife, bowling at Plaza Lanes in Highland, fishing when he could, and spending time with his loving family.

Fredrick is survived by his wife, Karen Taylor, his sisters Linda and Sharon, his several nieces and nephews, in-laws Linda and Kenneth Taylor, along with other assorted family and many caring friends.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Helen, his brother Randy, his niece Shay, and grandparents on his wife's side, Janet and Henry.
