Gary E. Wiersma

Gary E. Wiersma, 70, Griffith, Indiana, passed away on February 12, 2020.  He was born on January 18, 1950 in Roseland, lllinois to the late Elmer and Marian (Boersma) Wiersma.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Nancy (Stark) Wiersma.  He was survived by his two children,Mike (Dawn) Wiersma and Karen Engelsman, three grandchildren,  Nick Wiersma, Jayna Engelsman, and Jaxson Engelsman, sisters Linda (Jake) Scheeringa, Betty (Ron) Butchart, Ellyn (Tom) Krusza, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday, February 17, 2020 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a funeral service to be held at the funeral home at 7:00 pm.

He was a faithful member of Faith Church of Highland, served in the United States Navy as a Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Technician, and a retired Teamster 705.
