George Michael Dobos Sr.

George Michael Dobos Sr., age 83, peacefully passed away on April 10, 2024.

He is survived by sons, James J. Dobos  and George (Jennifer) Dobos Jr.; grandchildren, Natalie Dobos, Jason Dobos and Brad Dobos (Valerie); great-granddaughter, Kyre; siblings, Mary Ann (late Michael) Polich and John (Rita) Dobos and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Mae Dobos; parents, Mike and Mary Dobos and siblings, Albert Dobos, Edward Dobos and Dolores Ruzich.

George was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1940 in East Chicago, Indiana. After attending Washington High School, George went on to serve our country in the US Airforce. On April 8, 1960, he married the love of his life, Patricia Mae Francis and together they raised their sons. George retired from Inland Steel as a mechanical foreman with 30 years of service. George and Pat were 'snowbirds' spending their time on Lake Okeechobee in Okeechobee, Florida.  He enjoyed building wooden clocks, fishing ANY where he could and spending time with his family.

George was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

George will be laid to rest privately at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
