George Goodmun Obituary
George F. Goodmun, age 78, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Goodmun; children, Anthony Goodmun of Hessville, Indiana and George Goodmun of Munster, Indiana along with many dear friends.
Preceded in death by parents, George and Hilda Goodmun.
George was born August 11, 1947 in East Chicago, Indiana. He was an avid fan of the Bears and White Sox. George was a member for over 30 years of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hessville, Indiana helping out in various ways. He was also an Eagle Rider. On June 18, 1988, he married the love of his life, Deanna Goodmun, and together shared 37 years settling in Calumet City then Hessville to raise their family.
He enjoyed camping and fishing with friends and family. He also enjoyed meeting up with friends, having a cold beer, and talking about the past and current progress of his favorite Chicago teams.
George was a loving husband, father, and friend. He will truly be missed by all the lives he touched.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 3:00-5:00pm at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block South of Ridge Rd) in Highland, Indiana, 46322.
