George "Tom" T. Travis, 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren February 11, 2021. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Patricia L. Camperman on December 20, 1965. Tom served in the U.S Army from 1966 to 1971 and went on to spend 37 years at LTV Steel, after which he retired and worked at Progress Pump, which he also retired from.
Tom was a loving father to three children, Robert H. (Peggy) Travis of North Judson, IN, Wayne T. (Stacy) Travis of Schererville, IN, and Victoria L. (Mandrell) Travis of Columbus, OH. He was a loving grandad to 13 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Pat, his parents Ed & Ruth, his brother Ron and Jim, his in-laws Wilbur & Eunice Camperman, and grandson Christopher McClellan-Travis.
He was a huge Chicago Cub and Gary Rail Cat fan.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
The family will have a graveside memorial at a later date where Tom, along with his wife, will be laid to rest together at the Travis Family Cemetery atop Skyline Mountain in Skyline, Alabama.
