Gil R. Lopez, 68, of St. John, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Mary Ann, beloved children: Amber (John) Olmstead, Eric (Danielle) Lopez; dear grandchildren: Alexandra (Xavier), Taylor, Charlie, Eden, Ellie, beloved sisters: Alma (German) Malave, Diana Colon, and numerous additional loving family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Gil will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the home of Amber & John Olmstead.

Gil was a loving husband, father and Papa in a way that made his family recognize how special he was to all of them. He was outgoing and friendly to all he met, and valued his relationships with others. He was a lifelong fan of Chicago sports, especially the Cubs and Bears, and he retired from Inland Steel after more than 30 years of service.
