Gloria Scholl Obituary
Gloria Gene (Peterson) Scholl, 89, of Munster, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was born May 21, 1936 in Calumet City, Illinois to the late David and Mary (Ols) Peterson.
Gloria grew up in Munster and graduated from Hammond High School. On May 25, 1957 she married Robert Scholl Sr. and together they raised 5 children. When she was younger, Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family camping and making memories. As she grew older, the church became her focus. She lived for the thrift store she ran at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, where she was a long time member. Gloria loved her family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed.
Gloria will be remembered by her children, John (Cathy) Scholl, Mary (Donald) Smith, and Dea (Chris) Mayo; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sons, Robert Scholl, Jr., and David Scholl; brother, James Peterson; and longtime dear friend, Fred Witton.
