Harry "Pa" Ranney

Harry "Pa" Ranney, 94, of Highland, a native of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2018. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years Rose, parents Harry and Myrtle Ranney, and sisters Eugenia Beck, and Mildred Wilguess.  He is survived by one sister, Grace Puller, daughters Tana (Kenneth) Winston, and Jill Ranney, his three grandsons Jeffrey (Dana) Winston, Matt Winston, Zack Zubaty, and devoted friend Mary Lou Porter and family.   The family would like to thank all of the amazing doctors, nurses, and volunteers at Community Hospital, and the Riley House of the Hospice of the Calumet Area.

Harry spent many years in School Town of Highland as a teacher, principal, and a member of the School Board of Trustees.  He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.  Donations can be made in Harry’s honor to Highland Dollars for Scholars, Honor Flight of Chicago, or to the Riley House of the the Hospice of the Calumet Area.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Tuesday, May 15 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Home, 8941 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.  A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Hillside Funeral Home at 9:30 AM with Pastor David Adams officiating.
