Helen Bergstrom

Helen Bergstrom, age 87, passed away peacefully Monday, March 30, 2026.

She is survived by her two sons: Brian and spouse Katrina Bergstrom, James and spouse Buffy Bergstrom; Sister Barb Gambill, Daughter-in-law Cindy Bergstrom, grand children Tiffany, Kyle, and Caden Bergstrom, Paige Harsh, Kirsten Rocha, and great-grand children, Cadence, Jessa Lynn, Jazmine, Anyanna, Alana, and Carter.

Preceded in death by spouse Richard Bergstrom, son Mark Bergstrom, parents Golden V. And Lula Burns, Sister Mildred Shipley, and brothers Raymond and Howard Burns.

Helen was born July 5th, 1938 in Gary Indiana and was a graduate of Calumet Highschool. Upon graduating, Helen immediately joined the workforce and continued to work within the medical field much of her life. On June, 3rd 1961 Helen went on to marry Richard Bergstrom and raise their sons together where they spent many days traveling to various state parks for family vacations. She enjoyed cooking, baking and attending White Sox games with loved ones.

Helen, was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all. She will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 9th 2026 from3:00-6:00pm at Eastlake Baptist Church 7121 East Lincoln Highway (US 30) Crown Point, IN, 46307.
