James Patrick Kennedy was born to this earth July 17, 1950 and born to eternity April 11, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Donna, his valentine whom he married on Valentine's Day.
He lived bravely despite a long illness. Fortunately, his wife was able to care for him at home and was at his side when he died. He is also survived by his son, Sean Kennedy (wife Kandace), grandchildren Salvator and Ellowyn, sister Nancy Wandermolen, many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law Bret (Melina) Prather and Jim (Jennifer) Prather.
He was preceded by his parents John and Luciell, and brother John Jr.
James grew up in Riverside, IL. He was a graduate of St. Mary Grade School, then St. Joseph Academy, then went on to Lewis University where he earned his degree in business. He was an intelligent, humble, and kind man who loved his family well. He was very fond of babies and animals, especially his dog Sampson. He was appreciated at Awmendenhal where he served as VP of supply chain. He made many trips on business to the LA area setting up new locations for work.
After retirement, he excelled at living his faith by serving the homeless shelter's and food pantries. He generously supported St. Jude Salvation Army and Mercy Ships. He went to Cambodia as a missionary helping to build schools. He and Donna loved to vacation in the Caribbean. They enjoyed plays and brunch on Sunday. He and Donna had a lot of fun running their small business "Eliza's Attic", a purveyor of antique and vintage pieces. He will be sorely missed. He touched so many people.
