James "Jamie" Earl Lewis Sr.

James "Jamie" Earl Lewis Sr., age 59, of Hobart, IN, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021. He is survived by his partner Debra Dowden; children Tiffany Lewis, James Lewis Jr., and Fleshia Lewis; grandchildren James Lewis III, Angelina Hardy, Alyssa Lewis, Adrianna Lewis, Jayden Garret, Analiah Lewis, Kane Shorter, and Anaya Shorter; siblings Micheal (Donna) Lewis, Vickie (Mike) Clay, Brian Lewis, Tina (Robert) Flood, Ronald (Joanne) Lewis, and Tonya Dover; best friend Jason "Chubs" Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willa Jean Lewis and Troy Lewis; siblings Darryl Lewis and Tammy Lewis; nephew Curtis Milam; and Suzan Lewis. 

James was a crane operator for 20+ years. Outside of work, he loved to hunt, fish, and work on his farm. James would take yearly fishing trips to Canada with his close family and friends. He loved to tinker around in his barn "creating work", and do outdoor activities with his grandchildren. He was also a diehard Bears fan. He loved playing and watching sports. He recently got to see his grandson, James III, play at the Colts Stadium. He coached basketball and football for many years. James is admired and remembered by many. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Rd (one block south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN, 46322 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.
