Munster, IN – Janet Kay Hertzfeldt, 67, died peacefully on 18 July 2026 at the William J. Riley Memorial Residence.
Janet was born in Hammond, Indiana and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Delores and her brother David, and is survived by her siblings, Susan of Schererville, and William Jr (Alice Stillabower) of Carmel, IN
As a young woman, Janet accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the First Church of Christ in Highland.
She was a 1977 graduate of Highland (IN) High School and a graduate with honors from the Sawyer Business College.
Janet was a trusted administrative assistant and associate at several firms in the Metropolitan Chicago area, including Arthur Andersen and BP.
She was strong in her faith, enjoyed music and loved to dance.
She was fearless in her life’s pursuits.
The family is indebted to the folks at the Hospice of the Calumet Area, who provided comfort to Janet in her final days.
The family is being served by Hillside Funeral Home of Highland, IN.
